Since the establishment of Qatargas 1, the Company has completed a successful expansion program that has included the development of Qatargas 2, Qatargas 3 and Qatargas 4 projects. At the moment we operate seven Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) trains with a total production capacity of 42 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
The expansion projects have added four new LNG trains. These projects were developed in partnership with the leading companies in the industry including ExxoMobil, Total, ConocoPhillips, Shell and Mitsui.
A new fleet of LNG ships was developed as part of the expansion projects, in addition to the installation of six offshore platforms, and the development of a receiving terminal in Milford Haven with associated pipeline infrastructure and extension of the existing Port facilities.
Each of the four new trains has a capacity of 7.8 mtpa. The two trains of Qatargas 2 will serve the United Kingdom’s gas market. Qatargas 3 will ship its LNG predominantly to the United States, Asia and Europe while Qatargas 4 will supply LNG to North America, the Middle East and Asia.
