SOUTH HOOK GAS SIGNS TERMINAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH TOTAL

09 Dec SH signingLondon, United Kingdom, 23 December 2009: South Hook Gas Company Ltd, part of Qatargas 2 project to supply gas to the UK,  has today signed an agreement with Total Gas & Power Limited to provide import capacity access and regasification services at the South Hook Terminal at Milford Haven in Wales.
In just over two months following the launch of South Hook Gas, the United Kingdom liquefied natural gas (LNG) Import Company which owns and manages the regasification capacity and System Entry Capacity at the South Hook Terminal, South Hook Gas has concluded its first UK market offering of capacity access.
This agreement allows Total Gas & Power Ltd to implement the LNG purchase contracts signed with Qatargas as part of the Qatargas 2 project in which Total is a partner.
The 25 year agreement with Total will see South Hook Gas providing regasification services to enable Total to import LNG at the South Hook Terminal and to take delivery of gas into the UK gas market.
At the signing of this agreement, Rashid Al-Marri, General Manager at South Hook Gas Company, stated, “South Hook Gas is committed to managing the South Hook Terminal’s capacity in an effective and flexible manner.   This innovative arrangement will help to maximise use of the South Hook Terminal and increase the opportunity for LNG deliveries to come to the UK.”
